Bring Your Space to Life
Balconda designs and transforms outdoor residential spaces — balconies, rooftops, terraces and gardens — for people across Egypt.
Why outdoor spaces
Most Egyptian homes have outdoor space that goes unused. A balcony becomes storage; a roof holds a water tank and nothing else. It's usually not a space problem — it's that nobody has treated it as a room worth designing. That gap is the whole reason Balconda exists.
How we think about design
We start from how you actually live rather than from a look. How many people need to sit? When do you use the space — mornings, or after work? What's stopping you using it now? The answers change the design far more than any style label does. We work across modern, bohemian, classic, natural and Mediterranean directions, but the direction follows the brief, not the other way round.
Designing for Egypt's climate
An outdoor space here has to handle strong sun for most of the year, dust, and in coastal areas salt air that degrades cheap materials quickly. So shade is designed first, not added later; materials are specified for the exposure of your specific location; and planting is chosen for the light your space actually gets rather than for how it photographs on the day it's installed.
Quality and execution
Furniture is built by our own carpenters to your dimensions, which usually gets more usable seating out of less floor area than standard pieces would. Installation is handled by our own team rather than subcontracted, so there's one group of people accountable from the first idea to the final handover.
Working across Egypt
We're based in Cairo and work in all 27 governorates. Projects outside Cairo and Giza take longer to schedule because of travel and delivery, and we say so up front rather than discovering it halfway through. Small spaces are genuinely welcome — a two-metre balcony is a normal project, not a favour.
